Your Everyday Bouquet Garden (A 4’x8’ garden plan)
There’s a certain point in the day, usually somewhere between running kids to ball practice, figuring out dinner (again), and realizing you’ve been in your car more than your house, where you just need a minute to yourself.
And lately… it kind of feels like life is flying by.
The kids are getting older.
They don’t need you every second like they used to.
Mostly, they need a chauffeur to games… and someone to grab McDonald’s on the way home.
So we put together something small.
A garden that’s just for you.
A reason to step outside, slow down, and notice something simple in the middle of a fast-moving season.
Because in a world that doesn’t really pause… this will allow you to take a few deep breaths.
Your 8’ x 4’ Cut Flower Garden Plan
You don’t need a big space to have flowers all summer long.
Just a small patch in full sun—and the right plants.
This layout keeps it simple and full so you always have something to cut.
Back Row (height + movement)
2 Dahlias (12–18” apart)
3 Cosmos tucked around them
Middle Row (your steady producers or focals)
4 Benary Giant Zinnias (12–18” apart)
Front Row (the fillers)
3 Celosia
3 Snapdragons
3 Basil
Plant these about 6–8” apart and mix them together a bit so it feels full and natural.

What You Really Get Out of This
Yes—you’ll have flowers on your kitchen table all summer long.
But it’s more than that.
It’s:
Stepping outside in your sandals before the day gets loud
Cutting a few stems in the quiet
The smell of fresh flowers when you walk back into your house
A little pause on life
A reminder to do something for yourself every once in a while.
A Few Simple Tips
Full sun (these flowers need 6-8 hours of full sunlight)
Water consistently
Protect from rabbits (they will absolutely help themselves)
Cut often—the more you cut, the more they grow
And one important thing—these are not the short, one-and-done varieties from big box stores.
These are the long-stem, cut-and-come-again flowers that keep producing all summer.
