Soothe Your Summer Hands: An Easy Lavender Sugar Scrub Recipe
If your hands look anything like mine—dirt under the nails, a few blisters from hoeing all those wild weeds—then you’re probably due for a little hand care. This is the season where the garden’s coming alive, but our skin starts to look a little rough.
A while back, I tried a sugar scrub at a restaurant in Florida (fancy), and I was hooked. My hands felt soft and smelled like calm, and I thought, I bet I can make this at home. It’s so simple:
Lavender Sugar Scrub for Dry, Garden-Worn Hands
You’ll need:
1 cup granulated sugar (white or raw)
½ cup coconut oil (or olive oil)
1 tablespoon dried lavender buds (optional, just pretty)
10–15 drops lavender essential oil
Optional: 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil for extra moisture
To make:
Mix sugar and oil in a small bowl until it feels like damp sand.
Add lavender buds and essential oil.
Stir in the vitamin E oil if you’re using it.
Scoop it all into a clean jar with a lid.
To use:
Scoop out a little and rub it into your hands after gardening or whenever they’re feeling rough. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. That’s it.
Nothing fancy, just a simple way to treat your hard-working hands. Mine feel so much better after using it, and the lavender makes it feel like your at a spa in the middle of a busy day.
