What’s Blooming for Summer & Fall Minnesota Weddings

Do you notice how flowers instantly elevate the vibe of a room?

Like… the second they show up, everything feels softer. Happier.

That’s the magic of wedding flowers.

If you love unique blooms with texture, movement, and real scent, local flowers are what help set the tone and vibe of your day. Garden‑fresh. Romantic. Never stiff or copy‑and‑paste.

The flowers we use for weddings on our farm don’t just appear overnight on a UPS truck. They’re started in early spring, then planted, watered, and cared for all season long by my two daughters and me. We hand pick them at their peak, so they look vibrant, and alive on your wedding day.

So what’s actually blooming on the flower farm?

Here’s a peek at what’s available for Minnesota weddings from July through September.

July Blooms: Light, Playful & Summer‑Soft

July is when things really start popping.

This is zinnia season. We grow them in the prettiest blush and soft pink tones that feel effortless and joyful. They’re full of personality and bring that relaxed, boho energy so many summer couples love.

And yes—we grow sunflowers, too. Not the stiff grocery‑store kind, but airy, boho sunflowers that pair beautifully with softer blooms and greenery.

July flowers feel fun, fresh, and bright. Perfect for laid‑back summer celebrations.

August & September: The Sweet Spot for Minnesota Flowers

If there’s a peak season for local wedding flowers in Minnesota, this is it!

August and September are when the queen of the flower farm arrives: dahlias.

Big. Bold. Ruffled. Romantic.

We grow a wide range—from rich jewel tones and warm fall colors to soft neutrals and classic whites. Dahlias add instant drama and depth, whether they’re the star of the show or tucked into a lush garden‑style arrangement.

And if you haven’t met lisianthus yet… she’s my personal favorite.

She looks like a rose, holds up beautifully (even out of water), and brings an elegant, romantic feel without being fussy.

We usually also have:

  • Snapdragons for height and movement

  • Seasonal filler flowers like Celosia for softness and texture

  • Garden greenery (Eucalyptus) that pulls everything together

This is when flowers feel extra abundant, layered, and full.

How We Use These Flowers

Love flowers but want to keep things hands‑on?

You can also purchase bulk flower buckets—perfect for brides who love to DIY or want help from friends and family. They’re also great for rehearsal dinners, showers, and welcome tables.

A Quick Note About Local Flowers

Because we grow everything seasonally, we can’t guarantee exact flower varieties or colors.

But we can promise this:

We’ll listen closely to your vision and do our best to match the look, feel, and color palette you love—using what’s at its absolute peak that week.

That’s the beauty of local flowers. They’re fresh. They’re alive. And they reflect the season you’re getting married in.

If you’re planning a summer or fall wedding—or helping someone you love plan theirs—take a look at our wedding offerings here on the website.

Local flowers don’t just decorate a space.
They elevate it.
